Rack Zinc Electroplating

SERVICES

Rack Zinc Electroplating

Zinc plating is used to protect metals such as iron and steel against the forces of corrosion. Zinc plating involves the electrodeposition of a thin coating of zinc metal onto the surface of another metal object, known as a substrate. The zinc coating creates a physical barrier that prevents rust from reaching the underlying metal surface. Zinc is chosen because of its innate ability to fight corrosion.

DeWayne's operates two large rack zinc lines capable of running parts up to 96 inches long. These lines are typically used to plate larger parts and each part is hung by hand. Additional features are highlighted below:

  • Two rack zinc lines capable of plating tens of thousands parts per day

  • Clear, yellow, and black chromate options with sealers

  • Hexavalent free standards

  • GM 3044 approved

  • Baking options available for hydrogen relief

  • Offer a proprietary process that results in interior tube corrosion protection that can withstand 150 hours of humidity testing
